AUDIT / NON-DEGREE

Take a class without pursuing a degree. Sit under JBC teaching at half the cost. No credit earned, no transcript pressure, no degree commitment — just learning.

$30 Per Credit Hour | $90 Per Course | No Degree Required

Not every person who wants to learn at Judah Bible College is pursuing a degree — and that is fine with us.

Auditing allows you to enroll in a course for personal enrichment without completing assignments, taking exams, or earning academic credit. You attend the class sessions. You participate in the discussions. You receive the teaching, the readings, and the materials. You leave fed — and you have not added a paper, a quiz, or a final grade to anyone’s plate.

The Word of God transforms believers whether they receive credit for it or not. We are not gatekeeping the teaching to those who can afford the full degree price or who have the time and life-stage capacity to commit to a four-year program. If you want to learn, there is a seat for you.

Who This Is Built For

Auditing serves believers in many seasons. Here are the most common kinds of students who come through this door.

The Hungry Believer You are not pursuing a degree, but you want to go deeper in the Word. Auditing lets you take a single course or several courses across the year for personal enrichment — at a cost most believers can absorb. The Word is the point. Auditing makes the Word accessible.

The Practicing Minister You have been in ministry for years and you do not need another credential. You need fresh teaching, biblical sharpening, and a community of believers who are pursuing what you are pursuing. Audit a course or two each year as ongoing development. Sit under voices that will challenge you. Keep your edge.

The Retiree or Lifelong Learner You have time, you have hunger, and you have a love for the Word that has only grown over the years. The season of life you are in is exactly when many believers finally have the margin to study the Bible the way they always wanted to. Auditing is built for the season you are in.

The Prospective Future Student You are considering full degree enrollment but want to experience JBC before you commit. Audit one or two courses, sit in real JBC classrooms, attend a Dominion Weekend Gathering, and see whether this is the school God is leading you to. Discernment is welcomed here, and we would rather you take your time than rush a decision this important.

What Audit Students Can and Cannot Do

Auditing is its own category at JBC. It is not a watered-down version of degree enrollment, and it is not a backdoor into the degree. It is something distinct, and the boundaries matter.

✓ What You Can Do

  • Attend all class sessions and participate in discussions at the instructor’s discretion
  • Receive course readings, syllabi, and learning materials — the same materials degree-seeking students receive
  • Engage with faculty during posted office hours or by appointment
  • Attend Dominion Weekend Gatherings when seating allows (check with the Registrar)

✗ What You Cannot Do

  • Receive academic credit or a grade for the course
  • Submit assignments for evaluation by the faculty
  • Take quizzes or examinations for credit
  • Have the audited course count toward a future degree

Audited courses are recorded on your permanent JBC academic record with an AU notation indicating audit status, but no grade or credit hours are awarded. Audited courses cannot be retroactively converted to credit-bearing courses.

Cost & How to Apply

Audit Tuition

$30 Per Credit Hour $90 Per Course (3 credit hours)

Audit tuition is half the standard JBC rate. The 10% tuition discounts (Senior, Married Couples, Metro Tab Dream Team) do not apply to audit pricing — the audit rate is already deeply discounted.

How to Apply as an Audit Student

The audit application process is streamlined compared to the full degree application — but the standards are the same.

01 — Submit a Student Application Complete the standard JBC Student Application and check the “Audit / Non-Degree Student” option in Section 2. The application is shorter for audit students — some reflection sections are optional. Plan about 30 minutes to complete it well.

02 — Sign the Required Affirmations Sign the JBC Statement of Faith Affirmation and the Code of Conduct Affirmation. These are the same affirmations all JBC students sign. Auditing does not exempt you from JBC’s doctrinal and conduct standards.

03 — Pay the Application Fee $25 non-refundable application fee, same as for degree-seeking students.

04 — Receive Instructor Permission Some courses may not be available for audit due to capacity, class size, or content concerns. The Registrar will confirm course availability and obtain instructor permission before final enrollment is processed.

Once approved, you register for your audited course(s), pay the audit tuition, and step into the classroom. No admissions interview is required for audit-only applicants unless the Executive Director requests one based on the application.

FAQs

Q&A 1: “Can I audit a Dominion Weekend Gathering?”

Yes, when seating allows. Audit students may attend Dominion Weekend Gatherings at the Registrar’s discretion. Confirm availability before traveling — these gatherings are first-priority access for degree-seeking students, and seating is limited.

Q&A 2: “What if I audit a course and decide I want to enroll for the degree?”

You are welcome to apply for full admission at any time. The audited courses will not transfer in (audit credit cannot retroactively become credit-bearing), but the experience often clarifies the calling — and that clarification is worth far more than any single course credit. Many of our current degree students started as auditors.

Q&A 3: “Can spouses of enrolled students audit?”

Yes — and this is one of the most common reasons people audit. Spouses of degree-seeking JBC students are warmly welcomed to audit alongside their husband or wife. Many couples have walked through this season together to powerful effect, and we honor the marriage that learns together.

Q&A 4: “Do audit students receive a transcript?”

Yes. Audited courses appear on your JBC academic record with an AU notation. The transcript does not show a grade or credit hours, but it does confirm enrollment and attendance. Official transcripts are $10 per copy through the Registrar.
